Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 July 2026
Sudoku Society does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network requests of any kind.
This policy covers the Sudoku Society apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android, published by Benjamin Gyurko, and this website.
Information we collect
None. There is no sign-up, no login, and no identifier of any kind. We never see your puzzles, your times, your statistics, or your device.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your progress locally so it can work offline and pick up where you left off:
- Your in-progress puzzle, notes, elapsed time, and slips
- Completed game records — difficulty, time, score, and date
- Daily challenge completions and streaks
- Your settings (relaxed mode, timer visibility, haptics)
All of it lives in local storage on your device. None of it is uploaded to us — we run no servers, so there is nowhere for it to go.
Your device's own backup is a separate matter, and we would rather be exact than flattering. On iPhone and iPad, iCloud Backup includes this data along with every other app's, if you have it switched on. On Android we exclude it explicitly, so it is never copied to Google. Either way that backup is yours, not ours: we never see it and could not retrieve it even if you asked.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
Payment
Sudoku Society is a paid app — a single $2.99 purchase through the App Store or Google Play. That transaction is handled entirely by Apple or Google before you download; the app itself processes no payment and contains no in-app purchases. We receive sales totals from the stores, never information that identifies you as a buyer.
Third parties
The apps contain no third-party SDKs — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising networks, and no social integrations. Nothing is shared with anyone, because nothing is collected in the first place.
The Android app does not request the INTERNET permission.
The iOS app makes no network calls. Because you pay once at the store,
the app needs no network of its own — and an app without network access
cannot transmit your data even by accident.
Children
Sudoku Society is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect nothing, there is no personal information from a child for a parent to review or delete.
This website
sudoku-society.web.app is a static site hosted on Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. As with any web host, Google's servers may log standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; see Firebase's privacy documentation. We do not access, receive, or retain those logs.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to request. Your on-device data is already entirely under your control — delete the app and it's gone.
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We never have and have no plans to.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever adds a feature that requires collecting or transmitting data — such as optional cloud sync — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, the change will be described here with a new date, and any such feature would be opt-in.
